Dreamscape is acquiring Singapore’s #1 web hosting company Vodien Group.

about Vodien Group

Founded in 2002, Vodien consists of several trading entities and businesses – Vodien Internet Solutions, Singhost, IT Works Internet, Cloud Hosting, and sg Domain and has #1 market share in hosting in Singapore.

Vodien supports over 35,000 companies and 210,000 users. Among the solutions provided are high-performance website and email hosting, servers, colocation, security and connectivity.

Pursuing Growth in asia

Dreamscape is actively pursuing growth in emerging markets across five major English-speaking Asian countries, with a focus on Singapore. Combining Vodien and Dreamscape’s infrastructure and operations provides the ideal platform to accelerate this growth in South East Asia.

Commenting on the deal, Managing Director & CEO Mark Evans said:

This is a strategically important acquisition for Dreamscape. The leadership team at Vodien Group has substantial knowledge of the local industry, with a strong track record of growth. Their company culture is a perfect fit for us, and they make a great addition to our senior executive team.

By acquiring this strong brand, we can leverage its current market position and strong customer awareness to immediately increase our footprint in South-East Asia, without needing to establish our own Singapore hub.

We’ve a great opportunity to introduce existing customers of both organisations to additional add-on value products and services. This is an exciting development for investors, employees and customers of both organisations.

Strategic opportunities with vodien

The move is part of a wider plan to invest in strategic opportunities, Evans said.

Dreamscape Networks Limited is on a mission for constant, never-ending improvement and part of this mission involves joining forces with other companies that can help provide more specialised and creative tools to help them succeed online.

Vodien Group CEO Alvin Poh said he is “delighted” that Vodien Group is becoming part of Dreamscape Networks.

Our two organisations have a very strong culture and business fit, and share a desire to become a leading internet domain and hosting business across Asia.

I am looking forward to becoming part of the senior executive team of Dreamscape Networks, working with Mark and the team to deliver on the growth opportunities that we see.”

Vodien Group has over 27,000 customers, more than 52,000 domains registered, and more than 26,000 active hosting customers.

DREAMSCAPE ASX debut raises $25m

In December 2016, Dreamscape debuted on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) following a successful Prospectus offer that raised $25 million. At that time, Dreamscape also announced its intent of growing the company. This is done through international and domestic expansion through acquisitions, new product development, and entry into new markets.

In April, Dreamscape announced the acquisition of Sydney-based internet hosting company, Net Logistics Pty Ltd for $2.55 million.

Furthermore, the addition of Vodien Group provides Dreamscape with a ready-made and world class hub and facilities. On top of this is a talented team, large customer base, and strong bookings with attractive margins.

The acquisition is expected to complete by the end of July 2017, subject to the usual customary conditions.
